Egyptian prosecutors are questioning officials at a Cairo museum after thieves stole a Van Gogh painting worth an estimated $55 million, the country’s state-run Middle East News Agency reported.Officials discovered yesterday that the painting, Poppy Flowers, was missing from the Mahmoud Khalil museum on the west bank of the Nile. Security agencies were put on alert at Egypt’s airports and border to prevent the thieves from smuggling the painting out of the country, the state-run news agency reported yesterday.
